Stride for Science 5k

Held in conjunction with SBM's Annual Meeting, the Stride for Science Run/Walk is our annual 5k that takes place on the Thursday evening of the conference. In 2025, SBM will be hosting the first-ever Field Day Frenzy: a new Stride for Science event dedicated to raising crucial funds for the Science Communication Fund and disseminating evidence-based research to our communities. Held at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, participants will engage in a variety of physical activities, both competitive and non-competitive, suitable for all fitness levels. The event will feature challenges, games, a DJ, and an awards ceremony, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all conference attendees.

Since 2022, SBM has raised over $50,000 for science communication through the Stride for Science Run/Walk to increase the public’s access to our members’ research. When you participate in the Stride for Science, you are not only supporting the enhanced communication of scientific ideas but also contributing to the broader positive changes in how science is understood, perceived, and utilized in society. Your small steps lead to significant advancements and improvements in science communication, clinical, and population health.
