Partnering for Progress: Building Successful Multi-Sector Research Collaborations

Partnering for Progress: Building Successful Multi-Sector Research Collaborations

This webinar was made in collaboration with SBM’s Obesity & Eating Disorders SIG and Child & Family Health SIG.

Many behavioral medicine researchers are interested in partnering with different sectors (e.g., government, schools, non-profits, industry) for research. Yet researchers are often unsure how to initiate these collaborations and navigate the unique opportunities and challenges each sector brings. This webinar brings together academic researchers with extensive experience partnering with healthcare systems, schools, and community organizations–as well as an industry research scientist–to share practical strategies for building effective research partnerships.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the benefits of multi-sector research collaborations, including for intervention scalability and sustainability
  • Identify signals of good alignment that academic researchers and cross-sector collaborators should look for in partnerships with one another
  • Provide actionable guidance for initiating, aligning, and nurturing successful multi-sector research partnerships
