Engaging Adopters in Designing Evidence-Based Interventions

On average, it takes 17 years for research evidence to reach clinical practice. To narrow this gap, it is crucial to engage potential adopters as early in the design process as possible and to continue engagement of potential adopters throughout the research process. Webinar attendees will learn skills to engage potential adopters and design evidence-based interventions for dissemination and sustainability. The objectives of this webinar are to 1) describe designing for dissemination (D4D) principles and processes, 2) define participatory co-design, and 3) discuss participatory co-design methods including group facilitation, community engagement, and human-centered design (HCD) testing. Webinar attendees will learn about several existing, freely available resources on engagement of potential adopters, including the DICEmethods tool (https://dicemethods.org), created by the co-presenters. The webinar will be presented by researchers with experience and training in dissemination and implementation science (D&I).
