SBM is pleased to offer two annual training institutes for early- and mid-career behavioral medicine leaders.
SBM Mid-Career Leadership Institute
The SBM Mid-Career Leadership Institute aims to help participant fellows grow into more effective leaders by fostering self-awareness and the development of leadership skills.
Throughout the yearlong program, participants deepen their inherent leadership qualities; acquire skills such as managing collaborative teams, influencing, and mentoring; and connect with other mid-career professionals who share a desire to become highly effective leaders.
Monica Baskin Diversity Institute for Emerging Leaders
The mission of the Monica Baskin Diversity Institute for Emerging Leaders is to support early-career SBM members from diverse backgrounds or those who are working with those from underrepresented populations develop into equitable and thoughtful leaders by fostering a deep understanding of the principles of diversity and inclusion.
Both programs begin with intensive in-person workshops during the SBM Annual Meeting, followed by ongoing small group mentorship with a senior SBM leader. Applications open in the fall, and participation is limited to current SBM members.
