As we step together into another new year, let today’s issue of Outlook encourage and inspire you with articles that exemplify SBM’s leadership in research, policy, career development, and the community. Multiple articles offer actionable ideas regarding our complex information environment. These include information on digital dissemination of research (courtesy of the Obesity and Eating Disorders SIG), Oxford University Press guidelines on how to navigate AI usage in science writing (from the Publications Council), and tips for how clinicians can equip families to navigate misinformation (from the Child & Family Health SIG). The Advocacy Council announces an expansion of the Policy Ambassador program with the introduction of two new focus areas (can you guess what they are?) and the Scientific Education Council shares its plans to provide SBM members with additional training and guidance for writing grants. Our focus on health for all continues with pieces on sleep and maternal mortality and the critical role of food assistance in promoting health aging in our population.
Happy New Year and happy reading to all, and I hope to see many of you in Chicago at our Annual Meeting in April!
