Associate Director for Population Sciences
University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center

The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMCCC) invites applications from experienced cancer investigators for the position of Associate Director for Population Sciences. This individual will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership of the UMCCC, overseeing population sciences research related to cancer, and participating in key decisions related to resource allocation, strategic direction, faculty recruitment, and institutional initiatives related to cancer research programs across the University of Michigan campus, including the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Information, Pharmacy and Social Work, as well as the Institute for Social Research and the new Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.

The desired candidate should be a nationally recognized leader in cancer population research focused on areas such as behaviors, communication, disparities, early detection, economics, epidemiology, health services, medical decision-making, outcomes, policy, prevention, quality of care, and/or survivorship. The chosen individual will oversee and help recruit for the two NCI-approved and highly rated population sciences programs: Biomedical Cancer Prevention and Sociobehavioral Research, as well as related cores. Faculty appointment will be as Professor or Associate Professor with tenure in the academic department matched to candidate's expertise. Desired qualifications include: strong record of cancer research accomplishments, demonstrated interest in and aptitude for collaborative leadership, strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, mentorship ability and administrative experience.
