University Hospitals of Cleveland Medical Center: Postdoctoral Fellowship in Behavioral Medicine
The Behavioral Health Institute and Heart and Vascular Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center invites applications for our two-year Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology Research and Clinical Fellowship. Train within a nationally recognized academic medical center affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where fellows will receive intensive grant writing training with the goal of submitting an NIH career development award (K23/K01) by fellowship completion, engage in federally-funded research from day one with access to existing datasets for rapid publication, and work alongside faculty with NIH (NIMH, NHLBI), AHA, and industry funding.
Fellows will spend 50% in research (participating in the development of a Behavioral Medicine Research program in collaboration with the renowned UH Heart and Vascular Institute, analyzing existing datasets from recently completed R01 studies, manuscript preparation, grant writing training, collaboration on active grant applications), 40% in clinical activities (individual/group behavioral interventions for cardiovascular patients, multidisciplinary clinics, outpatient clinics), and 10% in professional development (weekly supervision, research team meetings, teaching opportunities). Will be license eligible by the completion of the 2-year fellowship.
Ideal candidates: PhD graduates (clinical, counseling, or health psychology) from APA/CPA-accredited programs with completed internships and defended dissertations, demonstrating strong interest in behavioral medicine, cardiovascular disease, and research career development. Competitive NIH-level stipend plus comprehensive benefits and professional development funds.
