Research Description
Drs. Ahna Pai and Micah Skeens are offering 2-year fellowships to work in the areas of behavioral clinical trials, digital health, and adherence in children, adolescents and young adults with acute and chronic health conditions. PC-PREP is the advanced fellowship training program in the Center for Biobehavioral Health that aims to develop high-caliber leaders in pediatric, health, and population research with children, adolescents, and young adults who are at high risk for poor physical and mental health outcomes. This program provides interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art clinical and translational research training for PhD, MD, MD/PhD (or equivalent) post-doctoral fellows with the opportunity to interact with multidisciplinary investigators across the clinical divisions of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and multiple research centers in the Research Institute, including the Center for Injury Research and Policy, Center for Child Health Equity and Outcomes Research, and Center for Suicide Prevention and Research. Under the mentorship of a faculty member, fellows will receive advance training in the responsible conduct of research, methods for the design and conduct of longitudinal and intervention research through access to a multidisciplinary faculty and will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on grant writing courses, advance statistical seminars, and learn from clinical trial experts. In addition, there are multiple intramural grant mechanisms that fellows are eligible to apply to support their individual research project. Emphasis is placed on the development of new and innovative research questions, the dissemination of scientific findings, and the preparation of applications for extramural funding to prepare and position fellows for an independent research career. We will continue reviewing applications until the positions are filled.
