Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, Cancer Survivorship
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center seeks a faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join the Cancer Survivorship Program and grow its research portfolio. The interdisciplinary Survivorship Program seeks to enhance care of cancer survivors by 1) rigorous research with national and international impact, 2) provision of outstanding clinical care, and 3) education and outreach. Survivorship focuses on the health and well-being of a person with cancer from diagnosis until the end of life. This includes the physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial effects of cancer from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
Relevant training includes but is not limited to medical oncology or psychology and biobehavioral sciences. The position is on the faculty/physician scientist (i.e., primarily research) pathway. Candidates who wish to maintain a clinical practice (20-30% time) can join the Survivorship, Oncology, or Supportive Care clinics.
Relevant research areas include but are not limited to: lifestyle or other interventions to mitigate late (medical or psychosocial) effects, biobehavioral research, health services, dissemination and implementation science. We seek candidates with research interest in adult cancer survivorship (young adults to geriatrics). This recruitment is not targeting candidates focused on survivors of childhood or adolescent cancers, nor candidates focused on bench-based research. The candidate will develop a research program within our collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, including extensive cutting-edge Shared Resources.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD, MD/DO or foreign equivalent.
Applicants are not required to have a clinical practice but those who do must have an MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification in a relevant clinical discipline, or a licensed clinical PhD degree. A University of Washington appointment and Washington state medical license are required for clinical practice.
The ideal candidate will have a record of and primary interest in adult cancer survivorship as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, grants and/or clinical trial experience.
