The Behavioral Medicine Laboratory at the University of Calgary is currently accepting applications for the role of postdoctoral fellow with expertise in Health Psychology. The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for working on a program to provide a better and seamless alternative to emergency department assessment for patients with syncope who are at low risk of adverse outcomes. The goal of this project is to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction, and decrease consumption of health services resources. These project activities form part of a national networked program in research, training and career development, and patient engagement in research. The successful applicant will also be expected to conduct research on projects concerned with adherence to complex health behavior change, coping with the symptoms of chronic illness and bio-behavioral factors in the etiology of chronic disease.
The preferred successful applicant will hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Psychology (Clinical or General Psychology Programs) or a related field.
This position is for an initial appointment of one year, with the possibility of extension to 3 years. This position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
