UMass Memorial Medical Center – Health Psychologist (Worcester, MA)

UMass Memorial Medical Center, the academic teaching hospital and clinical partner of The University of Massachusetts Medical School, is inviting applications for a Health Psychologist. This is a full-time position based within the Psychosomatic Medicine Consultation-Liaison Service that serves the inpatient medical units of UMass Memorial Medical Center, as well as The Outpatient Health Psychology Program. The individual will provide a broad range of health psychology interventions to a diverse patient population, both at bedside and in the outpatient clinic. The individual will also provide consultation to medical treatment teams across the Medical Center. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the position offers the opportunity for teaching psychology graduate students, psychology interns, and psychiatry residents. The position provides an academic appointment to the Medical School commensurate with experience. The pursuit of research is encouraged and anticipated with departmental support for research activities and a highly successful Career Development Grant Writing Program for junior faculty.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine focus) from an APA accredited program with a strong understanding of the links between medical illness/treatment and the psychological issues that may arise
  • Must have completed an APA approved clinical psychology internship
  • Graduate and Post-doctoral/Fellowship Training in Health Psychology preferred
