The Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) offers several opportunities for obtaining continuing education credits.

SBM Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions

Each year at SBM’s Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions, approximately 30 credits are offered to attendees in several professions. SBM offers credits for:

  • Dietitians (ADA)
  • Certified Health Education Specialists
  • Nurses (PESI)
  • Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
  • Psychologists (APA)
  • Public Health Professionals (CPH, NBPHE)
  • Physicians (AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits)

American Academy on Communication in Healthcare Free Trial

The American Academy on Communication in Healthcare (AACH) partnered with the Society of Behavioral Medicine and offered a free 30-day trial subscription to DocCom, an online communication skills learning curriculum for physicians and students with CME/MOC available. Comprised of 42 modules, each about one hour in length with over 400 videos, DocCom is used in residency programs, as well as in remedial education. Founded in 2003, the non-profit has over 85 institutional subscribers and 25,000 users in 12 countries. Six journal articles describe the value of using DocCom.
