Chair, Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences Position Offered at Kent State University
The College of Public Health at Kent State University invites applications for the position of Department Chair of Social and Behavioral Sciences to begin July 1, 2013. Faculty research currently includes substance abuse prevention, child obesity prevention, and violence and injury prevention. The Chair is expected to advance the department's mission by attracting and mentoring quality faculty, expanding research activities, strengthening the undergraduate and graduate programs, and providing administrative leadership that includes but is not limited to supporting the College's CEPH accreditation. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a productive research program, direct graduate research, exhibit excellence in teaching, and demonstrate a commitment to the department, college and university. The desirable candidate will possess a doctoral degree in the Social or Behavioral Sciences with academic credentials corresponding to appointment as Professor with tenure; a strong record of funded research; recognized leadership in the field; and demonstrated leadership and administrative skills and experience.
