New Report - Helping Smokers Quit: Tobacco Cessation Coverage 2011
Today the American Lung Association released its fourth annual Helping Smokers Quit: Tobacco Cessation Coverage 2011 report. The report provides an overview of smoking cessation services and treatments offered in each state by Medicaid, Medicare, state employee plans, quitlines and private insurance. It also discusses past and future federal government actions to help smokers quit.
This year the report features a list of the Five Most Quit-Friendly States (ME, ND, DE, OK, WY) and Five Least Quit-Friendly States (GA, LA, AL, MD, NJ). The report is a great resource to focus media and policymaker attention on cessation coverage policies.
