Call for Student Volunteers at Annual Meeting
The Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) is seeking Student Members interested in volunteering at the 31st Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions, April 7-10, 2010, at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel (Annual Meeting conference hotel) in Seattle, Washington. All volunteers will be asked to meet the requirements listed below in return for reimbursed base registration to the conference.
Steps to Volunteer
- Ensure your 2010 Student/Trainee Membership Fees have been paid.
- Fill out Volunteer Interest Section on 2010 Registration Form (available online at www.sbm.org) and pay registration fee (which will be reimbursed upon successful completion of volunteer hours).
- Purchase SBM Annual Meeting t-shirt ($25.00) via the meeting registration form, which is to be worn during volunteering time.
- Participate in one of the pre-conference training conference calls. (Tentatively scheduled for March 30 and 31 at 12pm CST. Participation is only required for one of the two calls. The call will last approximately 10-15 minutes and call information will be provided pending acceptance).
- Participate in 4-6 hours of volunteering at the Annual Meeting
A few very important notes
- Your registration fee, minus the t-shirt and any Seminar/Course, CE credits, boxed lunch fees will be refunded within 2 weeks following the Annual Meeting and confirmation of successful completion of volunteering duties.
Reimbursement Notes:
- Credit Card - the refunded amount will be reimbursed to the card used at the time of payment
- Check - the refunded amount will be refunded to the address and individual listed on the check used at the time of payment
- All volunteer spaces are filled on a first-come first-served basis by SBM. SBM will try to accommodate those times/days selected, but cannot guarantee that they will be available.
- Indicating your interest does not confirm or imply acceptance.
- Upon acceptance SBM will confirm your volunteering time slot(s).
- Volunteers are asked to sign in at the designated volunteer room before their start time and sign out upon completion of volunteer time.
- Volunteers who depart their assigned station early will not be reimbursed by SBM for their registration fee for the Annual Meeting.
- All Volunteers MUST wear their t-shirt during their volunteering times so it is clearly visible. This enables staff and meeting attendees to easily identify you.
- If applicable to assignment, return head count sheets to the volunteer room at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.
- Additional details will be provided upon acceptance
Please double check that your meeting registration confirmation notice states "Volunteer (Pending Acceptance)" to ensure you were added to the Volunteer Waiting List.
