Evidence and Excitement: Looking toward the Coming Year
I am honored to begin my term as President of the Society of Behavioral Medicine. I attended my first SBM meeting as a student in 1988 and have missed only one meeting since, in 1997, when the date coincided with the week my son Aaron was born. Society of Behavioral Medicine Inducts New Officers
On Saturday, April 14, 2012 the Society of Behavioral Medicine inducted
its new officers at the close of the 33rd Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions in New Orleans. They include Alan J. Christensen, PhD, Dawn K. Wilson, PhD, Michael A. Diefenbach, PhD, and Sherry L. Pagoto, PhD. Read more >>
SBM Steps Into the Public Policy Arena!
Developments in healthcare reform and congressional pressure on the National Institutes of Health (and the researchers they fund) to demonstrate how scientific advances influence the health of the nation provide exciting opportunities for our Society to achieve our vision of better health through behavior change. Recently, SBM President Karen M. Emmons, PhD, engaged the Board of Directors in identifying areas where our Society could contribute, at the public policy level, to improving health through advances in behavioral medicine.
