The ETCD Council is responsible for reviewing applications for several of the SBM Achievement Awards and choosing the award recipients:
- Outstanding Dissertation Award
- Distinguished Student Awards
- Distinguished Research Mentor Award
- Distinguished Clinical Mentor Award
- Excellence in Behavioral Medicine Training Program Award
